Part of Boltanski's body of work dealing with his quest for remnants of his own past, through the lives of others, more specifically Jews in Europe during WWII. These artworks led Boltanski to question the substance he had used when creating his own artworks. Boltanski reconstructed his own youth by converging his own truths and past with those cinstructed around remnants and artifacts left by others.
